OUR VISION
Our vision is to create a generation of young men who are confident, educated, and empowered to lead with purpose and integrity. DLD for Youth envisions communities where every young man regardless of background has access to mentorship, opportunity, and the tools to achieve personal and professional success. We strive to break cycles of violence, disengagement, and fatherlessness by fostering unity, self-discipline, and cultural pride. Through education, leadership, and life skills development, DLD for Youth aims to shape future innovators, mentors, and community builders who uplift others and transform their neighborhoods into safe, thriving, and equitable places for all.
OUR MISSION
DLD for Youth empowers young men ages 8–25 across Chicago, Maywood, Bellwood, and Broadview to realize their full potential through mentorship, education, and personal development. Our mission is to build confident, disciplined, and purpose-driven leaders who embody integrity, self-respect, and accountability. Through engaging programs focused on Dressing for Success, Education, Self-Discipline, Coping with Father Absence, Cultural Awareness, and Job Readiness, we equip participants with the life skills and moral foundations needed to thrive in school, work, and community life. By fostering positive identity, cultural pride, and resilience, DLD for Youth creates pathways for young men to overcome barriers, embrace responsibility, and lead with excellence—transforming challenges into opportunities for lifelong success.

Founder & President
Denard Wade Sr.
Founder and President Denard Wade Sr. holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Fire Science and is certified by the Illinois State Fire Marshal. With 30 years of distinguished service in the Fire Service, including 20 years as a Fire Captain, he brings exceptional leadership and expertise to the organization. Mr. Wade is deeply committed to community engagement, serving as a trusted liaison and crisis manager in collaboration with local law enforcement, civic leaders, and community organizations. His dedication to public safety, mentorship, and youth empowerment reflects a lifelong mission to inspire the next generation of first responders. Through his leadership, he promotes teamwork, discipline, and service excellence, ensuring that all programs uphold the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and community impact.
